“Now my heart wants to cheer,
Life’s sweet promise is here,
And love is a lov-er-ly thing.
– from “Up Jumped Spring” with lyrics by Freddie Hubbard
Here is a bit of good news as we enter the spring season. The Mercer and Somerset County markets are heating up! According to RealtyTrac, the nation’s leading source of comprehensive housing data, Mercer County’s 2014 REO percentage of overall sales and Its unemployment rate represent significant improvements in the last year. RealtyTrac’s Heat Index Map (interactive and very cool) shows a bright green area [green is positive!] starting from Trenton and moving up to Basking Ridge.
“96 Percent of U.S. County Real Estate Markets Better Off Than at Height of Foreclosure Crisis Four Years Ago” according to RealtyTrac’s nation-wide real estate analysis, which considers four key categories of housing market health: home price appreciation, affordability, percentage of bank-owned (REO) sales and the unemployment rate. The 410 counties analyzed in the RealtyTrac report account for 63% of the U.S. population. Check out the March 20, 2014 article and heat map. Read more >>>
